I’ve been to a number of provinces in the Visayas region last year. Every single time, I needed a Wi-Fi connection because my job required an Internet connection.

I’ll be updating this post as I get to know new Wi-Fi hotspots in the provinces. Please comment if you know of any hotspot in the provinces. I intentionally excluded Davao and Metro Manila because I believe it’s not hard to find hotspots in those cities.

In Iloilo City, I’ve tried:

1. Highway 21 Hotel - It costs P100 for 24 hours and the signal is in the lobby only. However, there are select rooms (that’s my secret!) that can detect the signal.
2. Century 21 Hotel - I haven’t tried here but I think it’s owned by the same owner as Highway 21. Presumably it costs also P100 / day.
3. Sarabia Manor Hotel- free, the signal is in the lobby / cafe / restaurant.
4. In SM, I was allowed to plug my laptop into the network (LAN cable) of an Internet cafe there in the 2nd floor. The cafe also sells computer hardware and software.

In Bacolod City, I’ve tried:

1. Sylvia Manor - free, the best thing is there is signal in the rooms! (I think they have gadgets that boosts the signal to the rooms?)

In Cebu City, I’ve tried:

1. Cebu Northwinds Hotel - free, the signal is in the lobby / cafe
2. Waterfront Hotel - free, various networks can be detected in the lobby and the many restaurants in the lobby.
