List of things I miss from Windows or IBM PCs

I purchased a Macbook Pro recently and so far I am loving it.  However, there are some things that I miss from Windows or IBM-based PCs:

  1. Page Up / Page Down keys
  2. Home / End keys
  3. Double-click to maximize window (On a Mac, this minimizes the window and I get killed by this all the time so I just disabled it.)
  4. Visual Themes! (Apple is so strict with their visual styles eh?  I was hoping to get the OS X Tiger look, to no avail.)

I thought this was going to be a long list.

Google Chrome – Themes by Artists

Google Chrome has new browser themes release called Themes by Artists, which includes popular names like Dolce & Gabbana, Mariah Carey, Donna Karan, Oscar de la Renta and many more.  My Google Chrome browser now sports the theme by Puk-Puk.

I really don’t know what they mean by “artists” because there are a lot of names there that I don’t recognize but that’s what they call it – Themes by Artists.

So what is Top Commentators Plugin? It shows the number of top commentators at the right side of this blog.  Not only that, it also links to the respective sites of the top commentators. Read more »

kasparov-vs-karpov

Garry Kasparov and Anatoli Karpov, both chess legends, are seeking a rematch to revive the game of chess.  Yes, I bet you didn’t know that there’s such a thing as “chess”.  Quick, name me the current world chess champion.  I bet 95% percent of you wouldn’t know without googling it.  I don’t know either.

When I was 20 years younger (ehem!), I easily knew the answer – Garry Kasparov.  Partly, because he was always the champion and nobody could defeat him until his protege, Vladimir Kramnik did.  However, I’d like to think he was beaten because he was already past his prime.

I haven’t heard of Karpov (I never intended to since I hated him.) but I know Kasparov is active in Russian politics opposing the administration of Russian leader Vladimir Putin. Read more »

Pearl Jam debuts album on MySpace

pearl-jam

Pearl Jam’s premiere in MySpace screams sellout but, hey, if none of the bands I adore sell out, I wouldn’t have heard of them.

Evenflow… thoughts arrive like butterflies.
He don’t know… so he chases them away.
