For fun, I tried searching the Net for free downloads of Limewire Pro.  The search results contained one Digg submission that claims there is a free and legal download of Limewire Pro.  The submission is aptly called “Limewire Pro, for free, legally!“.

I followed this submission on Digg and found that the article about Limewire Pro Free Download has actually 2052 Diggs!  I’m thinking this can’t be true so I clicked on the Digg link so I would be taken to the original article.

It turns out that the article author was wrong, and he admitted it, of course.

The good news (maybe)  is that I found out about FrostWire in that same article.  The Digg article claims that FrostWire is a free Gnutella client very similar to LimeWire but features many of the limitations the free LimeWire version imposes.

In other words, it seems that FrostWire is the “free version with no limitations” of LimeWire Pro.

I checked the FrostWire site and the screenshot of the user interface eerily resembles LimeWire.  I checked Download.com and found FrostWire seventh (373,011 downloads) in the Most Popular Downloads list, LimeWire (free version) being the first (1,744,635 downloads ).

I guess the LimeWire Pro Free Download search concluded with a FrostWire absolutely free download site.

Ah, the beauty of free enterprise being free…
