The Pacquiao - De La Hoya dream match is off (I’d like to think, only at the moment) because the Pacquiao camp is not satisfied with the 30 percent cut offered on the table. According to Bob Arum, Pacquiao’s promoter, they will accept a 35 percent cut.

If you ask me, there should be a 50-50 sharing.  Pacquiao is as marketable as De La Hoya at this stage of Oscar’s career.

Michael Phelps is dominating the swimming event in the Beijing Olympics! Six gold medals and six broken world records!  I am rooting for Phelps.  I have been rooting for him since I first knew about him during the last Olympics in Athens.

He is, of course, trying to break Mark Spitz’s record of seven gold medals in a single Olympic event. Phelps still has two more swimming events left in the Beijing Olympics.

The USA Redeem Team (basketball) is crushing its opponents… although they couldn’t quite do what The Dream Team did in terms of destroying the competition.

I’m glad that Kobe Bryant is more recognizable than Lebron James in China. Sorry, King James, but Kobe is still the KING.  I should disclose, however, that I also like Lebron.  He’s a very un-assuming guy.
